In keeping with the theme for 2024 Keep the Fire Burning! Blak Loud and Proud this event is all about resilience and The fire will burn using traditional methods, from sunrise to sunset for the entire NAIDOC Week!
The opening event at sunset on Sunday will include a Welcome to Country, Smoking Ceremony, Mayoral address and Didgeridoo as the sun sets over the Budawangs.
Sit around the fire and have a yarn with their tent embassy in the Wood Chop Arena, overlooking the Shoalhaven River from Sunrise to Sunset each day with Traditional Fire Lighting Demonstrations twice daily.
Warm up around the fire, share stories, catch up with old friends, make connections, have a cuppa, or just admire the fire.
If you are from the local Aboriginal community and have anything you would like to share or sell or even any printed information or flyers for the community, please let them know or bring them up. They would love to provide space to display these for you.
